How would Comet Tail know who Sunset Shimmer is. In her app I never mentioned the main six or so forth. I don't think anyone not even twilight knows that Celestia had a previous student

my mistaken i would of thought that Comet would of seen her around Ponyville or Cantorlot at some point. I'll just edit.

Yeah, Twilight doesn't know anything about Sunset. The events of Equestria Girls have not happened yet, as Twilight is still a unicorn at this point. So she would have no idea who Sunset is or that she was Celestia's previous student. And I wouldn't stick the mane six as his friends, either. Twilight has no idea who he is.
