Arietta swayed a bit on her feet, thankful to Lorelei that the spell had hit, despite not having much strength left in her body, she tracked him with her eyes, ready to dodge the frontal attack. This proved to not be the right choice. The kick he had given her, was powerful, she could hear the crack of her ribs. Pain entered her body as she fell to the ground, part of her wanted to scream I surrender, or to just pass out. But that would mean that all her struggles would be for nothing.
She wouldn't have that. She couldn't have that.
Was he really going to kill her? She couldn't let that happen. Her chest filled with pain, but based on what she could tell, no ribs were broken. The question was, what could she do with her little amount of strength.

Sync could have very easily killed Arietta if he wanted to. The only thing restraining him was the fact that he wasn't supposed to kill her. All he could do was beat her up more. Clearly, though, the teen was succeeding in that regard. How she hadn't fallen over by that point was beyond him, though. Sync wasn't about to question it; he'd just keep on fighting until it became clear that Arietta had had enough. It almost seemed like she had gotten to that point by then, but the fact that she was apparently still capable of standing made it seem unlikely that she was quite ready to surrender.
So be it, he thought, but you aren't making yourself that much more impressive. It's more stupid than anything else.
Once again, he found himself considering what he ought to do. His breath came out in little puffs and he seemed a bit worn out himself. Sync wasn't the one who looked like he would collapse at any given moment, though. True though it was that he was bleeding in a few places and suffering from a couple of other injuries, he was no worse for the wear. At least, he didn't look like hell. Not like Arietta did. But what else could he possibly do to her that wouldn't kill her? His more powerful spells would have obliterated her; he knew that for a fact. It was why he had held off on using his earth based techniques. Those would have been much too much for her. What, then, could he have done?
...Another fire spell, perhaps? The last one had only burned her arm. Maybe he could get away with one more.
Flecks of red light flickered around him once more, and a devious grin played about on his face. This one was going to be fun. It wasn't quite like his Cyclone Blaze, as that one had been a combination of magic and martial arts, but it was still a good one to use. He was positive it would be appropriate.
"Flare Tornado!"
Instead of fire surrounding him, the supposed tornado directed itself toward Arietta. Soon, if she was unlucky enough, she'd find herself struck by the fiery vortex.

Arietta barely had time to think, she tried to dodge as best as she could. This proved to be no success. The fire met her legs head on. It hurt like crazy. As soon as she hit the ground, things only got worse, the pain was almost crushing. It wasn't fair! she couldn't lose not now. She had come so far. What was she even doing. The pain kept increasing.
The young girl couldn't even look at the marks that were now on her legs. They would leave scars for sure. How long would it be before she could walk normal again. She couldn't take anymore.
And so she screamed. A loud dying animal like cry. One that could easily make any member of the crowd cover their ears. It echoed along the walls. It hurt so much! The cry to most animals would have sounded like a cub crying out for its mother in danger or just as an animal was dying.
No more! No more!

"Gah!"
Sync hadn't been expecting Arietta to scream in pain the way she had. He really should have, given the strength of his spell, but the green-haired teen simply had not been prepared for it. He covered his ears in an attempt to block it out, but it did little good. He could still hear Arietta. Soon, though, he swore that the screaming had died down. He moved his gloved hands from his ears and sneered at the girl. Surely that would be a good beating to remember him by. But he had to do one last thing. Sync had to ensure that Arietta would remember their fight and not think for a minute that she stood a chance against him.
The fire from his spell had long since dissipated, so it was safe to approach the downed girl. When he got close enough to Arietta, Sync raised his foot and brought it down on her. All he'd really do was hold her down with it. Given how battered and broken Arietta must have been, though, Sync could very well have been hurting her with this simple action.
"Had enough?" he sneered.

Arietta gasped in pain, enough to cough up more blood as Sync's foot made contact. She raised her hand in an attempt to get his foot off. But, all she could do was grasp his ankle and weakly raised her head to stare at him. This, proved to be more harder than the young girl thought. Her opponent kept coming in and out of focus as her vision started to blur. It wasn't going to be enough. She could only hope that someone would take him out in the next set of matches. Or at least she could get stronger enough to beat him.
"O-one day I am going to win. I will wipe that smirk off your face-" she said with determation

"Yeah, sure," Sync laughed. Arietta beating him? The very idea had the green-haired teenager laughing. She was barely his height. How in the world did she expect to beat him when it was obvious he had more experience than she did? Well, it probably didn't matter for the moment. All that mattered was that he had her beaten. Did he want to try and knock her out, though? That was the present question. It would have been fun if he could accomplish it, but he already had Arietta beaten, broken, and battered. She wouldn't be coming after him for a long time as far as he was aware.
"Just remember. You're not going to beat me any time soon. You're only lucky that we're not supposed to kill today," he sneered. If it had been allowed for him to kill, he probably would have. As it stood, though, Sync was satisfied with being his usual sadistic self and beating the snot out of Arietta. He applied a bit more weight to the foot holding Arietta down and leaned in closer to her. He wanted her to really hear what he had to say this time.
"Next time we fight, you won't be so lucky. Remember my name... My face. Sync shows no mercy. Remember that."

Arietta gave a weak gasp of pain. Sync. She would remember his name there was no doubt about that. Her vision blurred again as her grip on his ankle fell to the ground, along with her own gaze. She didn't want to let him win, but already she was torn, broken and bloody. She wouldn't cry, at least not with him there. She had failed, her promise to win to Princess Luna and Hiccup was for nothing. Would they hate her?
The world around her went black as her head hit the ground.
The match was over. That much was clear, even the silence that filled proved that much.
