(ooc: September 5th. Open to Twilight, Pinkie, and whoever wants to watch their fight.)
There she stood; Twilight had been dreading this moment the entire day, and now it was finally upon her. No longer was she wearing her uniform. Instead, the purple unicorn was as bare as could be (apart from her fur) and looking just about as uncertain as one could imagine. Who could blame her? The school had seen fit to set her up against Pinkie Pie of all ponies. Her best solution to the problem was to just tickle the snot out of her, but even then Twilight had her doubts. Rainbow Dash had made a reasonable point when she'd brought it up. It was far too late to think of any better solutions, though, as the moment to spar was upon them.
Twilight gave an audible gulp and stepped forward a couple of paces. Her ears were flat against her skull and her head was lowered a touch. She really, really didn't want to do this. Hurting Pinkie wouldn't make her a better pony. What would Spike have to say? Or Princess Celestia? Or even Princess Luna? The thought made Twilight's legs quiver visibly and she had to swallow again. This nervousness wasn't going to help her in the slightest. What else could she possibly do, though? It wasn't as if she could just magically poof Pinkie away. That would have been too obvious, and they might have both wound up in trouble if this stunt was attempted.
All the two could do was try their best not to hurt each other.
"Are... Are you ready, Pinkie?" Twilight asked. She refused to make the first move. It would have been far too easy to just start attempting her tickling magic spell right then and there. No, she wanted to give Pinkie a fighting chance. It was only fair.

Pinkie made some sort of nervous gurgle that could only be described as a squeak mixed with a whimper. Her jaw opened, head tucking back as she was shoved into the arena by a pair of invisible hands. Her legs wobbled and shook as she looked back and forth between the stands until she finally spotted her best friend. Twilight Sparkle. She gave a loud gasp not unlike the one that she made when she first met Twilight. Her crystal blue eyes widened and filled with tears.
"NO! I'M NOT READY! I NEED TO STRETCH! MY TUMMY HURTS! I LEFT A CAKE IN THE OVEN! MY LAUNDRY IS DRY! GUMMY NEEDS TO BE WALKED!" She bounced in the air and landed at Twilight's feet.
"Did it work? Can we go now?"

Twilight's mane stood on end when Pinkie cried out the way she did, and the unicorn took an involuntary step backward. That was rather unexpected. Actually, that was putting it mildly. At least Pinkie had spoken in her normal voice shortly thereafter and asked if it was over. She must have meant the fight. Unfortunately, Twilight didn't think they were going to let them get away with that much. They needed at least a scratch or something before they could get out... Right? Faking a fight wouldn't do it, either. Twilight had determined that she'd just have to do as little as she could. Outright blasting Pinkie with magic was going to be too much. But could she do a little attack? She didn't know.
"I don't think so, Pinkie," Twilight answered. Her ears resumed the position against her skull and the unicorn glanced at the ground. What could she do? Maybe a little cut? That seemed about as little as she could do without outright blasting her friend. Maybe... Yeah. It would just have to do. Hopefully Pinkie would forgive her for what she had to do this day.
"I'm going to try something. I'm sorry, Pinkie... I'm really sorry," she said after a moment. Her horn gave off a weak glow as Twilight began to concentrate. Just a cut... Just a cut... If all went well, her concentration should have led to a small current of concentrated air to go against Pinkie's side. It would hopefully result in a small cut appearing on her friend's pink furry side. This was a spell that Twilight had never really practiced, though. Who really knew if it would work?

"...Twilight..."
Scared baby dragon was scared. Not even a full day had passed since he'd followed in his friends' hoofsteps and arrived at the school, and already Spike was starting to think coming here hadn't been such a smart idea for any of them. The little reptile had made the library his first stop here upon arrival, expectant that even if Twilight wasn't there right at that exact moment, he could have made a good start at his number one assistant duties by seeking out the books she was most likely to need in advance. Instead, what he'd found had been a list pinned to the notice board, proclaiming that she and Pinkie were scheduled to fight each other that very evening.
Spike had almost dismissed it outright as a joke in very poor taste until he'd been filled in on what exactly was going on here. The instant he had, the purple dragon had dropped everything in his haste to scurry to the arena; only to find that his friends' fight had already begun. It was all Spike could do to watch from the stands, on the edge of his seat with fear for his friend. For both his friends. The little dragon's tie was a mess; ever since he'd got to the arena, he had been twisting and tugging the accessory between his claws in nervousness, until he'd now it was all scunched up and the knot pulled much too tight; Spike hardly even noticed. His entire attention was on the fight, even as he continued to worry his tie still more.
It almost wouldn't have been so bad if Twilight had been pitted against some huge monster - at least then he would have known which side to cheer for. And she'd faced huge monsters before; she would have got out of that with barely a scratch, Spike was certain. Against Pinkie, though...
It wasn't as if the party pony would even be able to do much to hurt Twilight. In a way, that worried Spike even more. Surely Twilight wouldn't hurt Pinkie either; but then what would happen to her? He'd been told punishment awaited those who refused to fight, and in a place like this he didn't even want to imagine what that would be.
"Come on, Twilight... you can figure a way out of this, I know you can!" She would, wouldn't she? Twilight was the brainiest unicorn ever; if anyone could work something out here, wouldn't it be her?
Spike really, really, really hoped he was right. He didn't want Pinkie to get hurt, and he didn't want Twilight to get punished.

Lucky for Pinkie, Twilight had heard Spike's voice. Concentration was lost, the glow around her horn dimmed, and Pinkie managed to escape even the slight cut that she'd hoped to inflict. But... Could Twilight really have heard what she thought she had? There was no mistaking Spike's voice, and his exclamation could be heard as plain as day, but the unicorn almost didn't want to believe it. If Spike was there, he would be in great danger one way or another. Her little assistant would be putting his life in danger at some point! This thought caused Twilight to finally look away from Pinkie and up into the stands.
There he was. Purple and green were impossible to miss against the crowd, and even more impossible to hide was the fact that he was sporting green accessories. They'd been split up. Twilight hated that idea even more than her and her friends being split apart. She wasn't altogether sure of why that was, but knowing that she and her number one assistant wouldn't be together made Twilight feel even worse than before. What was she even meant to do? What if...?
No; she couldn't waste time worrying about whether she and Spike would end up fighting or not. What mattered was focusing on the fight between her and Pinkie. That wasn't to say that Twilight would ignore Spike's words, though. She had to think of a way. Giving up wasn't exactly Twilight's style, even if there had been occasions when she'd felt backed into a corner. There had to be a way for her to avoid harming Pinkie and making it look as though they were fighting.
...Wait a minute...
"That's it!" Twilight finally exclaimed, excitement present in her voice. She turned back to Pinkie, hoping the pink mare would listen, and decided to propose her plan.
"Pinkie, I have an idea. I'm going to pick you up with my magic. See that wall?" She jerked her head in the direction of the wall, if only for a brief moment. "I'm going to make it look like I'm throwing you that way. If I do it right, it shouldn't hurt... But you have to make it look like it's hurting you. I need you to look scared when I pick you up, and like you're in pain when I press you against the wall. Can you do that?"
Her words were soft. Twilight didn't want anyone listening in on the plan, even if she was doing this in the open for all to see. Just to make it look as though she was getting ready to actually fight, Twilight crouched into a more battle appropriate position with her horn pointed properly at Pinkie. Hopefully this would be her way out. She just had to pray to whatever deities there were that the plan would go off without a hitch.

Two-Tone entered the stands as she saw the fight between two equines going on. "Looks like they've begun already." she said as she took a seat and watched the action a bit further. From what she could tell it seemed to be a slow fight as far as she could tell, she pondered about her own fighting ability or lack of one since she never fought before which worried her though she didn't want to let anybody else know. Especially Lucky.
The Dalmatian looked over seeing a small dragon seemingly cheering on one of the ponies, wait? A dragon?? Now Two-tone was a bit confused seeing Spike calling out to Twilight. Two-Tone decided to shrug off seeing Spike and returned her attention to the fight she was witnessing.

Rainbow Dash who had taken a seat close to Spike watched on. She had really hoped it wouldn't get like this. This was 2 of her very best friends. They shouldn't have had to fight each other. Dash let out a sigh of relief as she had heard Spike call out to Twilight. Maybe now this would help her come up with some sort of plan to escape this fight without any of them hurting each other. Now, Dash had no idea what Twilight's plan would be. But, she had ended up, being close enough to notice Twilight's lips moving . She could tell right then and there, that Twilight had a plan. Dash didn't know what sort of plan this was, but, she trusted the Lavender unicorn that this was probably a really good plan that Twilight probably even thought would work.

Pinkie had been frozen with fear, hence the lack of response. Inside she was shaking herself. Twilight would never hurt her on purpose. Twilight was one of her best friends. Just like Fluttershy, Rainbow, Applejack, Rarity, Spike. They all were her friends. Why would Twilight want to hurt her. Yet there Twilight was, her horn aglow. She folded down on her chest, hooves covering her head, teeth chattering and eyes closed.
Then Twilight whispered something to her. Her ears twitched, head lifted, mouth opened. "But you have to make it look like it's hurting you. I need you to look scared when I pick you up, and like you're in pain when I press you against the wall. Can you do that?"
"Uh I don't think that much acting will be needed," Pinkie said, "I'm scared to beans!" She nodded to Twilight. "I'll run atcha then! Okie dokie lokie!" She bounced towards Twilight, head pointed towards her. Hopefully if Twilight heard her, she could be tossed over to the wall. Would this fight be over? Soon she hoped. Maybe if she acted really really REALLY hurt the fight would end soon.
Then they could have cake. And ice cream. And everything would be all sunshine and smiles. Right?

Applejack hadn't exactly been keen on coming to the fights. If she was completely honest with herself as she should have been, she didn't want to come here at all. She shouldn't have to be here in the first place. Applejack wished she hadn't come at all - none of her friends for that matter. Or Apple Bloom and her friends either. They should be back at Ponyville, doing their normal chores and jobs. But here they were, in a fancy new school, one that made you kill and fight against your own friends. Not exactly what Applejack had been hoping for at all.
She was seated right next to Rainbow, peering down in the field, her green eyes flickering from Pinkie to Twilight every second or two, watching their movements. Before Spike had shouted out they both had seemed fearful... unsure what to do. But now, Twilight seemed a bit more confident, and Pinkie was hopping straight toward the purple mare.
Could they have...? Hopefully, they had hatched a plan. What kind of plan, Applejack had no clue. All their ideas in their earlier meeting had been mostly shot down as not working. But could Twilight have figured out a way to fake fight? Make it seem that Pinkie was more hurt than she actually was? Applejack could only hope it was a great plan, otherwise who knows what could come of the fight.

Lucky meanwhile entered the arena close behind Two-tone. Unlike his wary would-be girlfriend his eyes were glued to the fight with awed eyes, expecting a battle of epic proportions spread out before his very eyes. At least ... until he sat down and took real note of what was happening. The two horses didn't even seem to be really fighting! "Aww man, this is so LAME!" Lucky whined, thrusting a paw towards the two lackluster fighters to emphasize his point. He wasn't sure why but he'd expected something along the lines of Thunderbolt... lots of quick shots, action, and special effects. Not... this.
"Come on guys! Let's see some real action!" He cried to the two mares, shaking a paw balled up like a fist.

Two-Tone looked over to see Lucky shouting toward the two ponies in the arena fighting or what the should be doing. "It's like they don't wanna fight, wouldn't blame them. Then again they should show some more action in there." Two-Tone said to Lucky before watching the two mares again. She didn't blame them at all, was fighting really necessary? Two-Tone wondered what would happen if she were involved in a fight, especially if it were against somebody she knew like Cadpig or even....... No she didn't wanna think of that possibility.

Ignoring Lucky as best she could, Twilight focused her attention on Pinkie as the pink pony bounced toward her. Her horn started to glow once more and she concentrated all her thoughts on Pinkie. Levitation was a breeze for the young unicorn. After all, she was practically Celestia's most prized student. If she couldn't do basic levitation, she might as well have not called herself the most faithful student Cesltia had at all. Her ears folded back a bit and, right when Pinkie was just about to reach her, the spell started to kick in. This much relieved Twilight, because she had hoped it wouldn't take quite that long to get the effects in. Still, she tried not to let it show through her expression. Twilight instead focused her thoughts on keeping her magic surrounding Pinkie as the pinkish red glow took hold around the pink earth pony.
Twilight jerked her head up, raising Pinkie up from the ground in the process, and grunted audibly. She wasn't quite used to levitating ponies. Spike was easy enough to take hold of, as he was smaller than her pony friends, but Pinkie was a touch heavier than she'd anticipated. This wasn't the time to be dwelling on that thought, though. The plan was already starting to unfold and she wasn't about to screw it up.
"AH!"
With that, Twilight jerked her head once more and started to levitate Pinkie toward the wall as fast as she could manage. She didn't do it fast enough to cause harm to her friend, but still moved enough to make it appear as though pain was about to occur. A soft snort escaped Twilight and she began to focus her concentration on trying to make the supposed impact gentle. She didn't think she was using enough force to actually harm Pinkie, but who could really say she was from the angle they were looking at? For all she knew, she could have made a miscalculation in her supposed throw.
...She could very well have been mistaken in how strong she was. One way or another, though, Pinkie would make some kind of impact. Whether or not it was as soft as Twilight was going for had yet to be seen, and whether or not Pinkie could act like she was in pain well enough also needed to be made apparent.

Trixie had been debating over the fights and if it should be a good idea to even watch them. She had almost chosen not to go. Almost. And then, she had read that Twilight Sparkle would be fighting someone. This she simply had to watch. If not, to see Twilight be tormented by the fact she had to face a friend. Her purple eye glanced over at the other onlookers and they narrowed.
So the cocky rainbow one and the little hayseed were there watching the fight as well. How adorable. What did they think they could accomplish by watching their friend? Beg for them to not fight. That wouldn't do them any good at all. The blue unicorn rolled her eyes at the fight. It was nothing special. It certainly wasn't anything that could be considered fun.
Then twilight did something. She was lifting the pink maned pony into the air.
"About time this fight started getting interesting." she muttered, watching intently.

Elijah entered along with his brother Lucky, he saw Twilight Sparkle and Pinkie Pie fight and was curious about these ponies since he only met Rainbow Dash, he hoped that they both will survive the fight so he could meet one of them, on the other paw, he couldn't help but think if he and his siblings were to fight, who would he be pitted up against, he's been having dreams about the fights and only one wasn't good, something he hoped would never happen, but if it did he hoped that his brother was merciful.
He could hear his siblings talk while he was watching the fight, in a way he was eager to fight someone, hoping to impress his family, he looked and saw that Jewel wasn't here, he let out a sigh of relief since he didn't want to fight her, if he had, he knew what to do and killing wasn't one of them, if he was pitted against her, he shook it off though. "Hold on, just give it a minute." He said to him as he took a seat.
He saw the purple Unicorn lifting up the pink pony with magic and was about to let the Pink Pony hit the wall. Interesting. He thought, this was his first time seeing a horse use magic. He kept his eyes on the fight just to see what was going to happen next.

"You don't like it, go someplace else." The baby dragon took his eyes off the arena a moment to scowl at the two - no, now three - dogs. Spike had never been the biggest fan of animals at the best of times, even less after the trouble Angel and the rest of Fluttershy's critters had given him the one time he'd had to step in and look after them, and the fact that these ones seemed so set on seeing the exact thing the rest of them were trying to avoid did nothing whatsoever to endear them to the little reptile.
"There's plenty of other fights on instead. Go on, shoo!" he flicked his claws in the animals' direction for a moment, as if to chase them off, but didn't do anything further; his attention was quickly returned to the fight as Twilight began to life Pinkie into the air, and Spike felt his heart leap into his throat. Ignoring any response from the dogs, the dragon scurried back to the foot of the stands, where he gripped the front railing hard enough to leave clawmarks in it.
It was true that he'd been picked up by Twilight lots of times, so he knew she couldn't be hurting Pinkie at present; still, the fact remained that something was going to happen, and Spike wasn't at all sure it was going to be a good thing; and the thought was confirmed as Twilight hurled Pinkie towards the nearest wall. In spite of himself, in spite of his trust in Twilight, the little dragon still yelped aloud. "Pinkie, look out!"
Even before the party pony had hit the wall, another voice cut into Spike's attention; this one an all too familiar one that made the diminutive reptile want to stuff his claws in his ears and pretend he hadn't noticed it at all. And under any other circumstances of running into the boaster, he might have done just that. Only right now, he couldn't afford to miss a moment of Twilight's fight, just in case she somehow had need of him.
"Oh no, not you too," he huffed simply, without even sparing a glance at Trixie.
