Now that is where things would get tricky. Naoto bit her lip before thinking of the best way to explain this. "The moment when i received the invitation i thought it was a bit odd, not just because I had received it but because one of my friends had as well. Not that it was a big deal, but it just seemed a little out of the ordinary. Where I live I am a detective and it was only recently that I had solved a bunch of murders. I thought maybe this school was some kind of trap. I want to know about it, and who is in charge and possibly put a stop to it."

"A detective?" Natalia asked. She'd never actually met a detective before, but that was a given. There hadn't been any of them in Baticul. Since Naoto was being so open with her, though, it seemed to give Natalia reason to actually tell her about just what it was she was. That is to say, tell the other about the fact that she was a princess. No one else knew that much yet, and she trusted Naoto. Natalia hadn't actually wanted to tell that much to anybody just yet. After all, she wasn't trying to parade her status to anyone. That would have made her seem stuck up... Wouldn't it?
"I don't know that much about being a detective, obviously, but since you've told me that much... I suppose I could share a little about myself as well. Back where I'm from, I actually am the princess," she said. She smiled a little and glanced at the ground after a moment. Would Naoto even believe her? She wasn't wearing anything to indicate that she was a princess, after all.
"My father wished for me to expand my educational horizons, and when my invitation came it was the perfect opportunity. Even if I did have to leave my cousin and friend behind to do so."

Naoto raised an eyebrow at her. The idea of being a princess sounded unreal, and Naoto wouldn't have believed it, but she knew better than to doubt such things anymore. "A princess, yes, I can actually see that. You have a very elegant air around you Natalia." Naoto nodded. And she was here not for the idea of it looked like fun, it was for an educational purpose. This seemed to be a secret as well. One that Natalia, like most girls wouldn't want people to tell. Natalia probably just wanted to be treated normally.
"If you are worried that I will treat you differently, then you have nothing to worry about." The girl adjusted her tie. "I'll treat you like every other student and as a friend."

"Thank you," Natalia said. She looked back up and adjusted the hold on her bow once again. At the very least, it seemed as though Naoto understood that she wanted to be treated the same as anyone else. Back home it would have been different, but here she was no one apart from just simply Natalia. No one really needed to know her status as the princess. It would have made people hesitant to interact with her, wouldn't it? Here she didn't have servants or people like there were back home. It was almost kind of refreshing. Natalia liked even more that Naoto understood that much. She may not have understood just what it meant to be a princess, but at least she trusted the strawberry-blonde's words.
"I do not wish for others to treat me differently here. As long as I am here, I have cast aside my title as the princess of Kimlasca. Here, I am simply Natalia. And... I must admit, it is rather freeing," she said. A wistful glance was granted to the sky. The most freedom she'd had back home was when she, Luke, and Guy had been able to play together. Those days of childish freedom had come and gone, though. Now she was a student... Just Natalia.
"You have my word that I will not treat you any differently, either. I do not claim to know just how a detective would be treated, but I will treat you the same as I would any other student."

This statement took Naoto by surprise. No one had ever once treated her like a normal human since her friends. Everyone had always treated her like the detective prince or just a snot-nose brat.Though for the most part, the snot-nosed brat part was from the police that didn't like her working on the case. "T-thank you Natalia." Naoto said giving a smile. "I appreciate that." Naoto glanced at the bow and arrows.
"Do you think perhaps someday you can teach me how to use one of those?" she asked, gesturing to her bow and arrow.

"...I suppose there would be little harm in teaching you. I did learn from rather skilled instructors myself, so I can try to pass on what I know," Natalia answered. This probably wasn't the most ideal time for it, of course, and Natalia only had her one bow. Perhaps if they could locate another and some more arrows, though, they would be able to begin instruction properly. That wasn't to say that archery was the easiest thing in the world, though. Natalia knew that it could be a bit difficult at first. Once one mastered the skills needed for it, though, then it was like second nature. A small giggle filled the air after a moment and Natalia shook her head.
"I remember my first lesson quite clearly. I ended up shooting an arrow into my cousin's room, and it pierced through one of his pictures of his sword instructor. He was quite upset with me for weeks after the fact," she giggled. Luke had eventually forgiven her, of course, but she hadn't been allowed to practice her archery with him while he focused on his sword instruction. It had been a fair enough exchange, though. Natalia had improved immensely after that little incident, though, and that was made obvious by the fact that she was likely one of the more skilled archers in Kimlasca. She took great pride in that fact.
"Hopefully there won't be any incidents like that when we eventually begin the lessons," she said.

"Well, if you hadn't told me that I would assume you were always this good." she adjusted the tie. "Of course I don't mean right now, but whenever we can, it would make much more interesting. And in return maybe I can do something for you." Her blue eyes were serious but there was warmth in her smile. Natalia reminded her a bit of Yukiko, kind and sweet but when you got her fired up then she would show them what she was made of. This seemed like the princess. "If there is ever anything you need, then you can find me." she said, before placing her gun back in its holster.

"Oh, if only I were that good at the start," Natalia giggled. If it had been that simple, it wouldn't have been too surprising for her to become the best archer in the history of Kimlasca. Alas, if wasn't so. Natalia had had to work at learning the skills needed for her craft and hoped to hone them even further. The idea that Naoto had always thought she was that good did make her feel good, though. Natalia wouldn't deny that much. Then came the suggestion that Naoto could try to teach her something in return... Or at least do something in return.
"Well, thank you. If I ever think of anything you could do to help in return, I'll be sure to let you know."

Naoto nodded, relieved that she was getting along with someone at this school that was not Yosuke. She couldn't spend her time with him all the time. Plus, a girl like Natalia who was level-headed was just someone she wanted to count on. "Well, I know one thing I can do for you." she said. "I can let the earth circle know that not all the fire circle members are as cold as the one that beat up Arietta. That there are a few good graces in the circle."
She looked up at the sky wondering just who would be on the next fights. She could only hope that things would be alright. That the next set of fights would not be a fight to the death

Arietta? So that was the name of the girl that had been beaten up. The confirmation from Naoto that the others in the earth circle would know that not everyone was out to get them was relieving. She'd probably have to watch her step around others regardless of that fact. The chances that every single earth circle member would believe Naoto seemed slim. In spite of that, Natalia was glad to know she had someone on her side.
"You have my thanks. I'm sure the more reasonable members of my circle would be glad to know of that as well," Natalia said. Now what, though? Perhaps she could try to give another demonstration of what she could do with her bow? ...Yes. That seemed like a wonderful idea now that she was thinking about it. With that in mind, Natalia plucked a trio of arrows from her quiver and began to put them in place. Only a skilled archer could manage this technique, she was sure. Her teacher had only shown her how to do it after she'd learned a fair few of the techniques. Naoto probably wouldn't be able to get how to do it straight away, and she didn't have a bow to speak of, but a demonstration couldn't hurt.
"I know lessons have not officially begun, but I can show you this. Just so you'll have an idea of what you could be capable of," she said. Natalia drew back the string of her bow carefully, holding each arrow in place with the utmost delicacy, and aimed for the tree once more.
"E-yah!"
The arrows were fired moments after her cry, and each hit the tree dead on and became stuck in the bark. The young princess beamed with pride. She still had the technique down to a tee.

Naoto couldn't help but smile a bit at the girl's words. She almost sounded like most of her circle was not that reasonable as she wanted it. It could be the same for Naoto, most of her circle was level-headed but sometimes she wished a few of them would stand up for themselves and quit getting pushed around. The detective made no response to it though and watched the girl's skill with the arrow.
Her eyes widened. It was not something that she would have seen if she hadn't come here. No one in Inaba had done archery. And she wasn't sure that she wanted to see it if they tried. No doubt someone would get hurt. "My, my you are good." she said. "I am impressed."
