"Missed me!" Kiara lurched backwards as Ronno came at her from the wolf's side, veering in the opposite direction before he could tag her back, giggling the whole time. This was so much fun! The young lioness sprinted away from the other students, towards a less-crowded corner of the gym. More open space might make it easier for Ronno to catch her - but it would also lessen the risk of tripping anyone else up by darting amongst their legs. Besides, Kiara was confident that she could outrun the young deer. Though even as large as the gym was, it didn't have enough space for her to evade her pursuer forever. Without slowing, the feline princess let her eyes wander the equipment stacked against one wall, wondering if she could use any of it to her advantage. Ronno could have been accused of growling at the princess. He often did that to scare Bambi but the male was having a blast. Nobody telling him he was being a bully AND he was allowed to charge after a creature he'd normally run from? Why would he want to stop? All he had to do was reach out and touch her with a hoof and it was his turn to show her his speed & skills. He was showing off, that was for sure. If they asked he'd even taken on a man twice the size of the one in the room. Despite the latter statement being a bunch of baloney. Ronno tried to gain on her and reached out a hoof to at least bat at the end of her tail.

A set of climbing bars sat against one wall; perfect, Kiara decided. Putting on an extra burst of speed, the youg lioness wasn't even aware of how close she'd come to being tagged by Ronno as she crouched and sprang as best she could without slowing herself down. It was a pretty pathetic leap, even she would be willing to admit - but it took her to her target, at any rate, and Kiara grabbed for them. One foreleg wrapped around one bar, the other around the one just below it; and it was only then that Kiara realised she had a problem. Her plan had been to climb higher, leap over Ronno's head and sprint in the opposite direction; only her paws made her ill-equiped for a scramble up the vertical bars. A wall of rock, she could have at least dug her claws in to help her; this, however, was something new entirely, and she had no real way of gripping the bars. And though she wasn't very far above the ground - her hindquarters were just about at Ronno's antler height, the young feline was uncomfortably aware - dropping back down would certainly give the young deer the time he needed to catch up to her.
Not that she wasn't presenting a very easy target for him anyway.
She really hoped he wasn't going to think about ramming her with those small horns of his. They may not have looked very pointy, but Kiara was sure they'd still hurt.

While he hadn't landed as strong a hit as he had intended, he had still gotten the first blow. But the grin that had been forming on his face faded when, just after his front paws thumped against the floor, Cheetor's shoulder impacted with his side, knocking the tall mutant dog off balance. He had to spread his front legs pretty far to keep from getting knocked over, leaving him exposed to a follow-up attack.
All seven of his eyes were fixed on the big cat as he turned his head, struggling to regain his balance before he was attacked again. As long as his legs were, his center of balance was considerably higher than his opponent's.
