Arietta stopped chewing her bread and thought about it. "I have never tried a dragon before. Mostly the animals i have communicated with are ligers and birds." she frowned, missing her old friends. "Uh, when i was little, I lost my home to a big tidal wave, a liger found and sort of took me under her protection so I developed that ability to live. But, a dragon, no, not yet. You know a dragon?" she asked, titling her head to the side.

"Actually, yes. My best friend's a dragon back home. His name's Toothless," Hiccup said. He realized it was a dumb sounding name, especially out of context, and so as he finally began to eat some of his sandwich he decided to explain. Of course, he waited until after he'd swallowed his bite of sandwich. Once he'd accomplished that much, Hiccup decided it was finally time to explain his friend's name.
"See, I called him that because his species, the Night Fury, has this ability to retract their teeth. When I actually met him for the first time and offered him fish, he was hiding his teeth. Then he let them come out so he could take the fish. Toothless is... Kind of strange, actually. But hey, he's my friend. I'd like to be able to know what he's saying some of the time, even if he does have these really expressive eyes," Hiccup explained. That was all he wanted, really. He wished to be able to hold conversations with Toothless once in a while. After all, the dragon had been his only friend for a while before the secret that he had been training dragons came out. He hoped neither Luna nor Arietta thought him strange because of it.

Luna gasped. "Thou hast befriended a dragon?" She said, straw slipping from between her teeth in shock, "You must be very brave indeed, sir Hiccup. Dragons in Equestria are massive giants capable of crushing your bones between their jaws! We in Equestria stay away from the dragons! Especially during their migrations!" Her ears folded back as she turned to the girl. Speaking to animals; she truly was like Fluttershy in Luna's eyes.
"Thy might and will must be great, sir Hiccup, we applaud thee." She bowed her head in a nod, eyes shining towards the male. "A fair gathering we make here, my new friends!"

Arietta's eyes went wide. "Oh, Luna is right. That sounds amazing Hiccup." she said, trying to keep her excitement at bay to avoid people from staring. "I wish i could meet this Toothless. He sounds like a very nice dragon." For the first time, Arietta felt like she was having a good time, ever since she had left her animal friends there had been a feeling of loneliness that she felt no one could fill but now these two had done it.
"Is it hard being a princess?" she asked, wanting to know about Luna.

A faint blush painted Hiccup's cheeks and he rubbed the back of his neck for a moment. Brave? Some might have thought so, especially after he'd lost a part of his left leg to make things okay between dragons and Vikings, but he didn't necessarily agree. He'd been afraid when he'd first encountered Toothless. So, if anything, it had been sheer Viking stubbornness that allowed him to befriend the dragon... Not to mention curiosity about the Night Fury in general. Still, he would accept Luna and Arietta's compliments of his supposed bravery. He'd need that much if he was going to survive for long.
"I'd call it stubbornness more than anything. We Vikings are notorious for it," he admitted. Stubbornness issues ran through their history more rampantly than a Terrible Terror in a sheep pen. Then, Luna commented on them being friends. Friends... Yeah, he supposed they were friends of sorts. He liked their dynamic.
"I have to say, I like spending time with you guys too. Sure we're a group some might not expect to get together, but I like being you guys' friend," he said. Arietta had also commented on wanting to meet Toothless. Depending on whether or not his dragon companion made it all the way from Berk, that might not have been difficult to arrange.
"As for meeting Toothless, that depends on him. Knowing him like I do, though, I don't doubt it'll be long before he comes here to see if I'm all right. ...At least, I hope he does."

There was only one thing that the blonde ice harvester was dreading all day long. He could handle going through class after class, and he could even endure the required athletics towards the end of the day. But one thing he wasn't thrilled about was lunchtime. Kristoff didn't have a single problem with eating food. Oh, he could definitely eat whatever was being served, and he could certainly use a break from those classes he had to take. So, why would he have any problem with lunch? It was people. That was his problem. The closest friend Kristoff had was a reindeer that couldn't even talk to him, and said reindeer wasn't even here. How was he supposed to mingle with a bunch of strangers? The mountaineer readjusted the dark green tie strangling his neck as he approached the food. Ok, he just had to take this one step at a time. He needed to get some grub, and pray that there was at least one empty table. Just one empty table was all he asked for. If he could hunt down an empty table to claim as his own, then he wouldn't have to panic. With a tray in hand, he put together his lunch for the day. A sandwich, fries, and his personal favorite, carrots. Topped off with some milk, the lumbering mountaineer had his lunch set for the day.
So... Now what?
All of a sudden, Kristoff felt incredibly lost. There was not an empty table in sight. His big brown eyes looked this way and that to no avail. This was already a great start to lunch. His sepia eyebrows expressed worry, and suddenly his plan to tackle one problem at a time was falling apart before his eyes. Where was he supposed to sit now?

Arietta looked up and noticed a fellow member from her circle. Kristoff, that was his name. He had seemed nice, though she hadn't really gotten to talk to him much, she knew that he was at least a good guy, and right now he seemed like he was having trouble finding a place to sit. She stood up and waved to him. "Hey. You can sit here. There's an open seat over here." the girl called out with a happy tone in her voice. she probably should have asked the others but the boy seemed so troubled that offering was a fast choice to make.

"Hard being a princess? It has its ups and downs, fair Arietta," Luna said, waving a hoof and lying through her teeth. Being the Princess of the night was far from easy in fact it was most troublesome. Especially when she had to shake her Nightmare Moon personality among the public. She sucked on the orange smoothie more as her new friends spoke before she saw the boy Arietta spoke to. Her ears raised.
"You there! With the strong physique and yellow mane! Thou hast been invited to join this great table! Thou shalt accept thy fate with gracious presence or face our wrath by...shunning!"

As Hiccup began to eat his fries, he happened to look the same way Luna and Arietta were. That was when he spotted Kristoff looking for a place to sit, too. The redhead wasn't about to let a fellow earth student go without a place to sit. ...Funny, really. Luna was the only one present who didn't seem to belong to the same circle. Oh well; Hiccup was going to follow the girls' lead and invite Kristoff to join them. He swallowed his bite of fries and waved a hand to try and signal to the blond. One way or another, someone was bound to get his attention.
"Yeah, come on and join us. We don't mind."

Post by Wizzer on Dec 9, 2013 2:38:34 GMT
Uncertain paws padded against the cold floor as Wizzer made his entrance. His ears were pinned somewhat, and he was a little nervous internally -- but he knew he would be okay in the back of his mind. He just wasn't used to being so...alone! The noise of the busy cafeteria helped, but it paled in comparison to the farm. Everywhere he turned at home, there was some kind of constant hustle-and-bustle going on -- he would be hanging out with Mooch and the gang, or he'd be out adventuring with Patches, or something. He never really had a moment to himself -- a moment of silence -- on the farm.
He shifted his position, still trying to adjust to his medically-assigned "belly band" (an incontinence-controlling device, given to him by the infirmary for his "little accidents"), and walked up to the array of food. Picking a tray up off the pile with his teeth, he noticed a supply of kibble -- most likely for the canine students -- and piled a good amount on his tray. He put some corn on his tray as well; a food he was familiar with, and one that he enjoyed. Kibble and corn. A strange combination, but for him, it would do.
Now -- he just needed to figure out where to sit. He looked around the cafeteria, all of the tables more or less full except for one. There were two boys, a pink-haired girl, and (most curiously) a blue horse. He was a little confused, but they looked friendly enough. Most importantly, their table wasn't full. Tray in mouth, Wizzer approached the table with caution, thinking of how he would respond to them if they rejected him. He put the tray down at the edge of the table in order to properly speak to them.
"Uh...d'you mind if I sit here?" he asked, his head turned to the side a bit. He shuffled his hind paws somewhat, beginning to feel more nerved than he did before.

It didn't take long until the blonde noticed a table asking him to join them. It started off with a girl who had pink hair, and it looked like they shared a circle. Names went running through his head, and he attempted to put a name with her face. It started with a vowel, and it ended in a vowel. Arietta? Yeah, Arietta. Kristoff couldn't recall speaking with her, but miraculously, he was able to recall her name. Another member of the table spoke up, and this time he couldn't recognize who, joined in, threatening to shun him if he didn't come over. If that wasn't enough to convince him to come over, another earth circle member told him to hop on over too. Looked like he didn't have to search for his own table after all. The bulky guy walked on over to the table and took a seat, setting his tray down. Upon arriving, yet another member from his circle arrived. This time, it was a dog.
"Sure, go ahead," the blonde responded. He saw no reason to banish the dog, so why not let him stick around? It was that moment he realized he didn't know everyone's names, and he wasn't sure if anyone was aware of his name either, so it was probably a good idea to introduce himself to the group. "Oh, I'm Kristoff, by the way."

"Oh...uh, thanks!"
The pup's tail picked up in a happy wag as he hopped up onto the bench, hope fluttering through him. He took a small bite of his food, the blonde boy's name catching his ear. He looked up, smiling shyly. He wasn't quite sure if he should introduce himself or not, but he rationalized that it was a good idea. They were all strangers to him, and they all seemed friendly -- what was the harm?
"I'm Wizzer," he replied, taking another bite of food. "It's nice to meet you guys!" He wondered for a brief moment if he should have made a more abrasive introduction, one that made him seem more confident, but he couldn't help his more docile approach -- they were being nice to him! Mooch would have probably whupped him over the head if he was back home.

Arietta smiled at the newcomers. A very cute puppy introduced himself. "Nice to meet you Wizzer. I'm Arietta." she said, no need to say what circle she was from. The girl had been against wearing a tie, it had been way too difficult. She had settled on a black necklace with a green dewdrop. Not many of the girls had worn the necklace, she didn't understand why. It was pretty. The rest of her outfit was very Earth circle though. "Kristoff right?" she asked the blonde.

Kristoff joined them at long last, and Hiccup couldn't help but appear pleased with this development. Not because so many members of the earth circle were present, but more so because he thought they all could get along. Maybe that was just whatever optimism was leftover from successfully bridging the gap between dragons and Vikings talking, though. Hiccup would never be sure. Instead, he offered a little nod of his head in greeting as Kristoff sat down with them. Not long after that, though, another individual was asking to join them. This time, Hiccup glanced in the direction of the voice and was rewarded with the sight of a puppy. This puppy, too, was sporting the earth circle's colors on his uniform. Interesting...
"Hey, Luna, I think somehow you've become a master of attracting people from the earth circle," Hiccup said at length. He wasn't trying to hide how amused he was, either. She was the only one of the fire circle present for the moment, and the idea was just kind of silly to him. ...Oh, right. Introduction time. He nodded again, acknowledging that it was okay for Wizzer to join them, too, and decided it was high time to introduce himself too.
"I'm Hiccup. Glad you two could join us," he said.

"Mmhm. It seems as if thou hast a point, sir Hiccup." Luna was supressing a smile. Attracting? Master? Gathering poni-errr people? That was PRINCESS' work. After being locked away so long Luna was happy to be seen as a central figure, even if it was with members of other circles. She cleared her throat, trying to supress the urge to use the Royal Canterlot volume when addressing her...well...friends she supposed. She did however raise a hoof towards them.
"Thou hast chosen a fine group of students to join Wizzer! We are Princess Luna of Equestria! You have chosen to sit with Hiccup of Berk, Arietta of...hm...and now Kristoff! A merry band of students we make!" She dipped her head in a bow.
"We wish to welcome you to the fold," she said, "As Princess of the night I decree it shall be so! We shall continue the conversation of..." She paused, lowering her volume to a normal level.
"Um...whatever you all would like to discuss..."
