[ooc: September 5th, shortly after Rules of Magic thread. Open only to Twilight and Trixie.]
Blue unicorn was angry! It was obvious due to the fact she had been plucking petals off flowers in a very very violent manner. That pesky Twilight just had to be in her class. In this school! Why was that unicorn even here? It didn't make any sense to her. Throwing down the now depetaled flower, Trixie looked around the quad, hoping to test some new magic skills. For what it was worth, the teacher for magic was good, and probably one of the best. But how was she going to know that if Twilight got in the way. Not to mention that pesky fire wizard from her circle seemed to think that Twilight was better than anything. She would have to show them one day.
"Why would they let HER into this school?!" Trixie cried.

The magic class had been good for one thing, if nothing else. It had put Twilight's thoughts away from the fact that she needed to fight Pinkie. Now, though, class was over and her thoughts were focusing back on the conundrum before her. How was she meant to fight her friend without hurting her? It was a difficult question to grapple with, and Twilight didn't really know what she was meant to do about it.
Before she could even do any thinking about it, though, a yell caught her attention. Twilight looked around the quad and spotted Trixie rather quickly. Her gut was telling her to ignore Trixie and carrying on with her day, but somehow she couldn't keep herself from walking over to her. It didn't take a genius for Twilight to guess who Trixie had been yelling about. After all, it had been made agonizingly evident that Trixie didn't like her after what had happened in Ponyville. Not that Twilight could blame her, though. She had shown her up and proven her for being nothing more than a braggart. Still, maybe they could hold a civil conversation. ...Maybe.
"Having problems, Trixie?" Twilight decided to ask.

Trixie turned her eyes towards the purple unicorn with a cold glare before it softened. She could at least try to act a little civil but still had the attitude. "Oh, no, I was just wondering why you even decided to attend this school?" she asked, gesturing to the school around her. "I would have thought that the citizens of ponyville wanted you around so that you could wow them better than I did."
She still held a grudge against Twilight but part of the magic class had seemed to say that the grudge wouldn't get her far in the game. "I thought you were Princess Celestia's star. Why come here when you had all that waiting for you?" she raised an eyebrow. "Trixie is curious is all."

"Well, unlike some ponies, I don't go around bragging about my magic. So no, I don't go around parading my magic for them," Twilight replied. She was trying hard not to sound too blunt, but it came out a bit toxic regardless of that much. As for Trixie's latter statements, Twilight didn't look that impressed. She may have been Celestia's pupil, but she wasn't grounded in Canterlot anymore. Her learning about friendship and passing on those lessons was much more important than strictly staying by Celestia's side anymore.
"As for why I'm here, it's not as if I'm glued to Princess Celestia's hip at all hours. I was invited here to learn, and I intend to do just that. There are some things even I can't learn from friendship or from my studies with the Princess. I thought even you would be aware of that," Twilight said at length. Maybe that had been a bit much to assume of Trixie, but she didn't care. She'd answered Trixie's questions and that was all there was to it. Though now Twilight had some of her own. One brow rose in interest as she pointed a hoof to the other unicorn.
"What about you? I thought you'd be more interested in trying to continue your traveling magic act."

Trixie shrugged her shoulders. "Trixie received the invitation as well." she replied. "While I would have rather have continued my traveling magic act, I thought maybe it was time for a break. The school seems to have good magic programs. I thought that I might as well take the chance to come and learn some new magic." she replied. 'Maybe even magic strong enough to defeat you.' that thought entered her head but she chose not to speak it.
"I am curious to see what Professor Starswirled has to teach us. He seems like quite the expert."

"I didn't come all this way to fight you, Trixie. I came to learn and I intend to do just that," Twilight said. Some ponies may have held a grudge against the other unicorn. Some might have even hated her. Twilight, although she did hold some ill feelings for the blue mare, wasn't some ponies. She was her own pony and she was fully intent on trying to prove that she wasn't going to stoop to Trixie's level. Instead, Twilight would focus on her studies and trying to find a way out of the academy that didn't involve death.
"Anyway, I guess you're right. It's amazing getting to be taught by Starswirl, and I'm interested to see what he'll have to show us as the classes go on," Twilight said. She'd always wanted to be taught by him, thinking him nothing but a legendary pony before, and now she had the opportunity to learn from him. It was definitely something she'd write to Princess Celestia about later.

Trixie nodded, she was a bit surprised that the purple mare hadn't blown her off. "It makes me curious what kind of magic he will be teaching us. Offensive or defensive." she said with a nod. "You never know what could come in handy with these strange matches on friday evenings." She put a hoof to her chin as if thinking about the fighting. She wondered how the list was decided.
"How do you feel about these matches?" she asked. "It is a very strange thing for a school to have. Schools do not normally have that do they?"
