(September 3rd. Open to all.)
Martin's ears flicked upwards as an annoyed expression poured over his face. The chubby mouse lifted his tie, smoothing it nervously as he stared at the books ahead. He scoffed. "How do they make mouse sized books but put them on shelves we can't reach?" He gave an annoyed squeak as he looked around for a way to hop up on the shelf. Martin liked to bone up on his reading so he'd come into the library praying they'd have books that weren't bigger than Nichodemus himself. The Librarian had told him where the books were but hadn't told him they were on the top shelf.
He scoffed, hands on his chubby fluffy hips. "What would Dad do?" He asked himself out loud.

"Maybe he'd ask for help?"
Twilight hadn't meant to listen in on Martin as he spoke to himself, but she couldn't help overhearing the final question he'd asked. It appeared to her that the little mouse was having problems and, since no one else was around, she figured she'd lend a hoof to help him out. The purple unicorn took a couple of steps closer to him and decided to offer her assistance. Whether or not he accepted it was another matter entirely, of course, but she didn't care either way. The scholarly unicorn wanted to try and do her part even if the little mouse wasn't in her circle.
"You look like you could use a hand there," Twilight observed.

Ask for help? Martin's ears dropped a little as he heard the voice. Would Dad asked for help? Dad HELPED other mice but did he ask for help himself? He turned towards the person talking. Or rather horse thing. He'd seen horses on the farm before but never a purple one and never with a horn before. He rubbed his 'hair' back. "I guess?" He pointed upwards.
"There're books up there that are for tinier students the lady said," he told Twilight, "But she didn't tell me they were up high like that." He almost kicked himself. His mother would kill him if he were impolite.
"My name's Martin," he said, "What's yours?"

Natsu really didn't want to be in the library, but he had homework to do. Something he hadn't ever had before back in Fairy Tail. As far as he could have seen, the quad was filled with students that he would rather not get to know until he had to. He was a friendly wizard but there were a few that well...weren't his cup of tea. The library wasn't exactly that either. It was Lucy's. She loved to read. Not him. He was all action.
His pink eyes narrowed at the large number of books. He was hoping to find a good book to learn about controlling fire magic better. His schedule said magic training. That would be helpful, and there was no way he would ask that show-off unicorn named Trucy? Trudy? Something with a T.
The voices caused him to look over at a small mouse and a unicorn. She looked sort of like the blue unicorn, hopefully not as bad. Not wanting to interrupt, the pink wizard walked over to the two. Maybe one of them could help him find the book he needed. (But even the wizard knew better than to interrupt the two at that moment)

Twilight glanced up to where Martin was pointing and frowned a bit. It was reasonable that they made books for the smaller students, but putting them up high like that? It seemed rather unfair to the vertically challenged and even more unfair if they weren't able to climb. That could be remedied, though. Twilight had her magic and, provided that Martin would allow her to, she could get whatever book he needed. She'd offer her assistance before doing anything, though. Nothing was worse than pushing help on someone who believed they didn't need it, even if it was obvious they needed it.
"I'm Twilight Sparkle, but you can call me Twilight for short. It's nice to meet you, Martin. As for your book problem, I think I might have a solution. Would you like some help?" she asked. She looked up to the books again, almost as though she was trying to discern which one Martin would have even wanted, and thought about letting her horn glow with her magic like it always did. She wouldn't make that move yet, though. Not until Martin actually asked for help.

Martin bit the inside of his lip sheepishly before tilting his head to the unicorn. "I guess, yeah," he said, "Nice to meet you Miss Twilight." Martin decided to explain. "Y'see my Pop taught me to read. But we don't have access to too many books at home that I can read. So I wanted to practice a bit." He shifted on his feet a bit before he dipped his chin in a nod.
"Yeah! Maybe together we can do it!" He beamed up at her. He was loud and obnoxious but the male wasn't cruel. He just wanted to read. Maybe Twilight would like to read with him? He shrugged. "I like reading adventure stories. Sword fights and stuff. What about you?"
