Brief History: Elphaba was born the daughter of the governor of Munchkinland and, horror of all horrors, when she was born she possessed unnatural green skin. This led to her father despising her very existence and doing very little to show much kindness to her. Later, her mother became pregnant again and Frexspar went to great lengths to make sure that his next child was born as normal as possible. To do so, he made his wife chew a special kind of flower... Which led to Elphaba's sister being born early and having a problem with her legs. Their mother died during the childbirth. Frexspar came to blame Elphaba for this and hate her because of it, because if it hadn't been for her being born the way she was then her sister, Nessarose, wouldn't have been born crippled. It quickly became apparent that her sister was the golden child, and often times Elphaba would be made to look after her as they grew.
Then, the time came for the two of them to further their education. Letters came for the girls inviting them to a school their father had never heard of, but in spite of that Elphaba was... Strangely intrigued. A new environment? New chances to meet people that might not be repulsed by her green skin? She'd take it. Of course, since Nessa was invited as well, her father insisted that Elphaba look after Nessa while they were there. Little did he know that the girls would be divided upon their arrival...
