(September 5th, open to all teachers attending the fights. Directly before.)
Sawyer didn't know why she was attending the matches that day. Maybe it was to see her students succeed with her dance skills. Maybe it was to be sure they weren't destroyed in the carnage. She felt the need to support her students, the ones she knew. Her ears folded back as she took her seat. It was towards the middle, hands folded over a modest skirt. Her lips parted as she let out a rather heaving sigh.
She looked about at the scenery which reminded her vaguely of a roman coliseum. She winced.
No blood on the field yet.

Normally, Rita wouldn't have cared at all about what was going on. The fact remained, though, that there was a possibility of students being in battles that had taken her and Dixie's class. Somehow the feline felt some loyalty to them, and she wanted to actually see how well the students were doing in the first around of fights. The grey feline made her way forward and ended up leaping into a seat near Sawyer. She remembered encountering the other feline teacher that morning. How intriguing that the two would both decide to watch the matches that day. Rita couldn't hide her curiosity this time. Surely Sawyer had her own reasons for watching the matches. So, little kitty decided to ask.
"Hey. Didn't expect to see you here," Rita said. Green eyes flicked to the battlefield and her ears twitched a bit. There didn't seem to have been any blood shed just yet, which was good, but Rita had to wonder how long that would last. Surely the students had something to defend themselves with. Claws, teeth, weapons... A shudder ran through Rita's body at the thought, but she knew it was true enough. The kids had to do whatever they could to protect themselves.
"How long do you think those kids are gonna last out there?"

Daring Do had made her way to watch the fights, she normally wouldn't have come to see her students get beaten, she was all for action and adventure but there was action and then there was bloodshed and death. She had come close to death in many adventures of hers but could she really watch students do the same? Her scarlet eyes scaled the field. It was relatively big and it felt almost historical.
But the moment she closed her eyes she could see students fighting and bloodshed. It was almost too much to watch. She had to support the students and see just what kind of abilities they had. Trotting her way over to the other two teachers she took a seat.

Nagaina was coiled up in a seat. Sitting in chair like a human seemed somewhat unnatural to the black cobra. She would sun herself on flat surfaces like these, but she would tend to avoid places where she knew a bumbling human might step on her. Nagaina only had so much deadly venom to dish out and she would rather not waste it on pitiful morons. But she assumed that a big cobra would not be bothered even if someone did happen to want that seat. Besides, she did not want to lean up the whole time to watch the battles, so being in a higher place made it easier for her to see. Her jade eyes were fixed on the battlefield for a while as her chin rested on a coil. Occasionally, her tongue would flick out to smell the air. When would these battle begin? The fact that mere children would be fighting - to the death in some cases - did not bother the snake much. Killing was just an everyday thing in the jungle where she was born. However, Nagaina was once a mother-to-be and was somewhat disturbed by this treatment to the younglings. She had not bonded with any of them in particular, but these gladiatorial battles seemed very unnatural to her.
Nagaina hissed as her head rose up. She turned her head and locked her green eyes on the other women around her.
Her voice was a shrill whisper, "Sometimes a little bit of conflict is good. Our children will do well with what they learn from the cruelty of confrontation. It shall prepare them for adulthood."

"Yeah, 'cause almost getting killed in a school is really going to prepare 'em for that."
Rita wasn't really in the mood to mince words. She knew what might happen if some of the students took the fighting too far. Today didn't seem like the sort of day where kids would die, of course, but it was always a possibility. Since her question hadn't been answered, Rita might as well have just voiced her thoughts on the matter. Seeing kids fight each other didn't make for a pleasant viewing experience, but she had nothing better to do. Hell, she didn't even know why she was bothering to teach at the moment. It wasn't as if being a singing teacher and instructing the children on how to do so would save their lives.
"What's the point in teaching these kids anything if all that's gonna happen is that they get sent here every Friday? Some of 'em might not even make it back alive. And we're supposed to just watch?" Rita asked. It didn't sit well with her at all. On the other hand, she was just a cat. It wasn't as though her leaping into the arena to defend someone would make a whole lot of difference. All she'd be doing would be setting herself up for disaster.
"I'm only here to see if any of the kids I've been teaching are out here today. Otherwise I wouldn't've bothered."
