(September 6th, open to Trend & Cheese.)
Trenderhoof sipped on the mojito prepared for him by the bartender at the pub. Next to him was a set of crispy apple fries he so loved dearly. However he hadn't touched them yet as his stomach was bit queasy from seeing the news of the fights. Fights. What kind of school was this anyway? He thought he was there to teach about creative writing and take students on field trips to awesome places!
Not to patch them up when they come into his class on Monday.
Trenderhoof sighed and lifted a fry with his magic, casually chewing it. He went to dip it in the delicious caramel sauce given to him by the chef but the male slipped, spilling the contents on a pony in front of him.
"Oh my! I'm terribly sorry!" He gasped, lifting a napkin with his magic to hand to the pony.

Wowsers... This was some kind of place, all right.
Cheese had heard about the fights only belatedly. He'd arrived fairly recently, mostly as he was meant to replace a pony who had apparently left, and he was growing accustomed to the surroundings. The school was nice and all, but if they were sending students out to fight each other... He could only imagine what kind of good his two classes would even do. At present, the party pony was walking into the pub with his beloved rubber chicken riding on his back. It may have been an odd sight to some, but Cheese took comfort in Boneless's presence. He'd had the rubber chicken ever since his first party. He...
As he walked up to the bar, the unicorn present there accidentally spilt some caramel sauce on Cheese's shirt. It wasn't that big of a deal, at least not to Cheese, but the apology that followed was accepted nonetheless.
"Oh, don't worry about it. Coulda happened to anypony," Cheese said. Wasn't that...? Now that Cheese was getting a good look at Trenderhoof, he got the vaguest feeling of recognition. He was that unicorn that was all about trendy stuff, wasn't he? Cheese hadn't expected to meet him there of all places. Well, that wasn't a problem. Cheese was all about meeting new folks.
"At least it's just caramel. Now if it was a banana cream pie, then there might be a problem."

"Still MY apologies!" Trend dabbed the pony's yellow shirt with the napkin. He was embarrassed slightly. The male was usually so put together! He'd just been so distracted by this place not being what he thought it was he couldn't even keep his braincells focused enough to dip caramel sauce. He grimaced before using his magic to offer up his fried apple slices.
"Care to try some? You already have the sauce," he joked, "It's nice to see another pony here teaching. My name's Trenderhoof. Call me Trend."

"Oh, sure! That'd be great, actually. I could use something to eat," Cheese answered cheerfully. At least Trenderhoof had gotten the caramel from his shirt. He wouldn't have complained that much about it, anyway. So, Cheese grabbed Boneless with his mouth and seated the rubber chicken on the bar counter. It wasn't much longer before he was seated beside Trenderhoof and plucking up the floating treat being offered to him. The introduction wasn't that hard to miss, either. Cheese nodded, then motioned to the rubber chicken before beginning to introduce himself.
"I'm Cheese Sandwich. Call me Cheese, though. It's easier. And this little guy here is Boneless. He's my buddy," Cheese said. What had Trenderhoof thought about the idea of students fighting each other? Cheese had to wonder about that for a moment. Maybe he should ask? Or would that have been too strange? Well, he didn't think too hard about it. Not at first, anyway.
"So, what do you teach?"

"Nice to meet you," Trend said with a smile, dipping his head politely. He blinked, staring at boneless who'd taken his own seat at the table. A boneless chicken. This pony must have been a comedian, he had to have been. Or a clown possibly. He sipped his mojito again, coughing on a mint leaf. Cheese wanted to know what he taught which caused the proud pony to puff out his chest.
"Creative writing. I'm a writer you know," he said, "Travel writer. But...you know in a place like this..." He sighed. "Writing isn't too important is it?" He really did want to teach the kids about his writing knowledge, about his wonderful adventures.
"So what do you teach?" He asked, "Also, do you want a drink my friend? I feel like I owe you after I turned you into an apple dipping tray."

"That's it! I thought I recognized you, but I couldn't think of what it was you did. So you're that writer that writes about the places he visits. Nice!" Cheese enthused. His tail actually was swaying back and forth gleefully at the very idea of it, but it stopped when Trenderhoof mentioned that the class he taught wouldn't be all that important in the school. A subtle nod followed and Cheese put his hooves up as he contemplated that much. A lot of the classes in the school seemed unimportant in the grand scheme of things. His own might have been just as unimportant in the long run. So, when the question came up...
"Party Planning 101 and comedy theory. I guess in this sort of place they aren't that important, but... You know, why should these students always have to study all this strife? Right? They could use a break to learn something fun. ...Or, you know, helpful if they want to throw a party somewhere down the line," Cheese answered. His classes must have sounded silly compared to Trenderhoof's creative writing. But as far as Cheese was concerned, the classes he taught were meant to be fun. A way to escape strife, now that he thought about it.
"...Oh, sure! I wouldn't mind a drink. Whatever you think is good is fine by me," Cheese answered. From there, he thought about the school itself for a moment and decided to pose a question of his own. Might as well try to keep the conversation going, right?
"What's up with this school, anyway? I heard they were making the students fight each other."
