Sinbad was born in Greece, Saraycuse to be exact, at a very early age he became a well known thief and pirate. On one of his quests, he ran into his old friend Proteus when trying to steal the Book of Peace which Proteus was bringing back home. He and Proteus got into a swordfight when the ship was attacked by a seamonster known as Circe. To prevent Proteus from being attacked, Sinbad was pulled under the ocean where he met Eris, the goddess of discord. Eris offered him a deal to steal the book of peace for him in exchange for wealth and power.
When he returned back home, Sinbad met up with Proteus and his fiance Marina, who Sinbad had fallen in love with a long time ago. Deciding against stealing the book of peace, he and his crew left for his life back on sea. Eris had other plans however. That night, she disguised herself as Sinbad and stole the book of peace and put the real sinbad in jail. In which his crime would be death. Proteus took his place, the deal was set that if Sinbad could not bring back the book in 3 days, then Protues would die.
Thinking that Proteus would not die, Sinbad just wanted to leave it be. Marina had followed him and offered him money in exchange for going to Tarturas to get it back. Sinbad, despite not liking the idea agreed. As their adventure grew on, Sinbad and Marina started to fall in love and learned of Eris's real intention.
Sinbad returned to take Proteus's place, which angered Eris, thinking that he was just a liar and a coward. So she returned the book of peace and Sarycuse was back to normal.
After that adventure, Sinbad sailed with Marina [Who proteus realized loved sinbad and let her go] across the sea. It was here that he recieved a letter inviting him to attend Dante's Academy as a teacher. After a very heated argument with Marina, Sinbad agreed to go
