The moment you and your belongings are transported to school you know something is up.
You're separated from your fellow students into your prospective Circles where you are marched into a deserted ghost town of a former city. Once there you're paraded to the center of this old town and set in front of a shadowy figure who speaks slowly, sickly and darkly:
"Welcome students.
While this IS a school environment you will be required to do more than learn."
Pointing to a large Roman-style Colosseum the shadow continues:
"That Colosseum will be your home on Fridays. There you will participate in battles against your fellow students. Your circles are your teams. You will fight one another until I decree you should stop or to the death.
You will be shown to your dorms now. Have fun this year."
And suddenly, they vanish.
Now you're stuck, a gladiator and a student in this ghost town. Will you fight? Or try to escape?
