Brief History: Sven was born somewhere on the mainland, and when he grew older he heard tales of the mythical treasure known as the Everlight. He was determined to prove that it existed, but scholars and treasure hunters alike told him it was pointless. Ever the optimist, though, Sven decided to keep pursuing his dream for as long as he could. Along the way, he met a teen by the name of Norma Beatty. He found out she was capable of using magic and, as a result, was quick to enroll her in the best academy he could. It wasn't long after that that he became her teacher. He tried to teach her all he could about treasure hunting, but every attempt at teaching her about disarming traps was disastrous. The two would spend time together, and Sven would tell her all about his dream of finding the Everlight. Eventually, Sven was expelled from the academy and set off on his quest to really try and locate the Everlight. His search inevitably led him to the great ship known as the Legacy... A ship that was massive and had large quantities of land and water on it.
One day, while Sven was resting in the inn at Werites Beacon, a letter came for him. Sven was intrigued by this, so he read it. It turned out to be an invitation to teach at a prestigious academy. He had to wonder if they had known he'd been expelled from the last academy he taught at, but shrugged it off and decided that maybe he could actually do a good job. ...While continuing to research on where the Everlight was, that is. So, Sven packed his bags and snuck out of the inn (without paying for the long stay he'd had) to head for the new academy.
