"Besides, you can’t spend your whole life playing it safe."
Peaches
Circle: Fire
Age: 17
Skills: Brute strength, tree-swinging
Weaknesses: Hot-headed, easily led by the ‘popular’ crowd
Friends: Louis, Ethan and his group
Family: Manny and Ellie (parents), Crash and Eddie (uncles), Sid and Diego (honorary uncles)
Enemies: Gutt and the pirates
Brief History: Born in realm of the dinosaurs, Peaches grew up above the surface, in the Ice Age. Life was more or less uneventful, if you didn’t count the antics of the various mammals – mostly her ‘uncles’ – who along with her parents made up the weirdest herd in history. She met her best friend, a little molehog named Louis, just as she was entering her adolescent years, and the two grew close as time passed. Though the young mammoth remained completely oblivious to the true depth of Louis’ feelings for her; especially when she reached mid-teens and became smitten with popular hot-guy mammoth Ethan.
All was well until the world started to end; or at least, that was what it seemed like to Peaches, as their home began to collapse into the ocean. Her father was torn away from her and flung out to sea and the world began shifting around them, a giant wall of rock moving in their direction, threatening to crush everything they’d ever known. Peaches’ mother immediately took charge, organising an evacuation to the land bridge, where they’d be safe. For Peaches, the journey was far from smooth. Guilt that her father’s absence was all her fault preoccupied her until Ethan, her crush, invited her to walk with his group the next day. That hardly went any better when she ended up brushing off her best friend – in his hearing, no less – and eventually got into a fight with Ethan over his risk-taking sense of fun. The upshot of this was an even heavier weight of guilt resting on Peaches’ shoulders.
All this paled into insignificance as they reached the end of the journey to find the land bridge destroyed. Trapped between the encroaching wall and the merciless ocean, with nowhere to go, left them as perfect prey for pirate Captain Gutt, who were looking to settle a score with Peaches’ father. Taking them all aboard his iceberg ship as prisoners, Gutt held Peaches and her mother hostage in exchange for Manny – and when he surrendered, made to execute them anyway. Peaches was saved only by the intervention of Louis, who distracted Gutt long enough for her and her father to escape – and that was when everything disintegrated into chaos. In the battle, Peaches was able to save her mother, and the pirates were defeated. She had her dad back, her friendship with Louis restored, a new home… Peaches was content.
At least, for as long as it took for an invitation to a school to show up. Her curiosity piqued, Peaches brought Louis along and set off for the academy.
