"Fight fair, Marie!"
(on the right)
Berlioz
Circle: Earth
Age: 8ish, in human terms
Skills: Talented piano player, moderately good at brawling with his siblings
Weaknesses: Not physically imposing at all, no strength to speak of, easily spooked, can be an annoying butt when it pleases him
Friends: Roquefort, Frou-Frou, Scat Cat and his gang
Family: Duchess (mother), O’Malley (stepfather), Toulouse and Marie (siblings)
Enemies: Edgar
Brief History: The youngest of his litter; Berlioz was born, along with his siblings Marie and Toulouse, in Paris in 1910. Owned by a very rich lady, the young kittens were raised in luxury – some would say ‘spoiled’ – and bred to be lovely young gentlemen and lady. This lasted until the time came for Madame Bonfamille to write her will, in which she left everything she owned to the feline family; leading directly to their kidnapping by jealous butler Edgar and dumped out in the countryside so that he, instead, would be the sole heir. It was only thanks to the timely assistance of Mr O'Malley the Alley Cat that Duchess and her kittens made it back to Paris, and Edgar was foiled and shipped off in a trunk to Timbuktu. Madame turned her house into a home for all the alley cats of Paris, and life settled back to relatively normal for the kittens.
He was caught by some surprise, however, when a letter showed up addressed, not to Madame, or even Mama, but to him. Curious, Berlioz had shredded the envelope – and almost the letter too, in his enthusiasm – and subsequently leapt at the chance to prove to his siblings that he was better than them. Passing a school course would prove without a doubt that he was the smartest! So the little charcoal feline set out at once.
