Brief History: Over seven hundred years ago, North, a Cossack bandit, was chosen by the Man in the Moon to be a Guardian, one of four, who would safeguard the children of the world, and break the dark grip of Pitch Black, the Boogeyman, on the world. As a result of their actions, Pitch Black was defeated, and disappeared into the shadows.
However, one day, the Boogeyman returned, ready to retake dominion of the world, and destroy the Guardians in the process. Foreseeing this, the Man in the Moon had already chosen another Guardian. Jack Frost, a spirit of winter, unprepared, and unwilling, to join the Guardians at first. But, after sharing in their struggles, and the tragedy of losing Sandman, Jack became a firm ally, and friend, of the Guardians, eventually figuring out hos to revive Sandy. After Pitch Black had once again been defeated, thanks in no small part to Jack, the young spirit joined the ranks of Guardians.
Some time afterwards, North was shocked to receive a letter, inviting him to teach at Dante's Academy. Knowing he could travel to the Pole with a flick of a Snow Globe, North was overcome by curiosity, and accepted the offer.
