Arietta glanced down at her feet and then at the tray in her hand at Hiccup's question. They were both not too hard to answer, but doing so just made her feel more sick. "...I have to fight today." she muttered sadly. "I...I don't think i can do it." Sync, she could tell was already stronger than she was. What would happen? It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if she got beaten but, he had made fun of her. He thought she couldn't fight. The pink haired girl had a feeling that Sync had years of exprience in fighting compared to her.

"Not you, too..."
Luna, Wizzer, and now Arietta. How many more from his group of friends were meant to be fighting that day? What if Kristoff had to fight, too? The idea had Hiccup feeling more nervous than before. He wasn't even sure if he could eat now. He could already feel his stomach knotting with worry and overall disgust of the whole thing. But who in the world could Arietta be put up against? She was so... Well, Hiccup didn't want to say weak. He was the true weakling out of all of them. But Arietta just didn't look like much of a fighter. He could only hope that she managed to get away from the fight without too many injuries.
He had to know, though. Who in the world had the masterminds of all of this put her up against? Who was it that was going to try and rip her apart? He could only hope that it wasn't an animal. That would have been far too cruel, knowing Arietta's background.
"Who'd they decide to make you fight?"

Arietta frowned, she doubted that most people knew who sync was. Except for maybe the fire circle. "It was some fire circle member named Sync. He's tall and got green hair. He seems to know what he is doing. He thinks that he is going to win in ten seconds flat, and knowing my luck...it just might end up that way." she sighed. "I thought maybe faking sick would get me out of it, but chances are the person in charge would just send me out there anyways."
She tried to smile, to show she was going to be okay but it wasn't too convincing. "I think I will at least be able to give him a few bruises. With any luck I won't end up in the infirmary with the doctors."

"No. No!"
Luna pounded on the floor causing her coffee to shake. "All of the people we have met," Luna hissed, "This will not do!" Her eyes narrowed as she padded towards the table, placing her tray down. "We only hope they do not call for your aid Hiccup. Or for your arms in battle. Perhaps you can take your dragon friend if he is here." She sat at the table and picked up a fork. But instead of eating she absentmindedly poked at the pancakes. She sighed.
"We are concerned we shall leave a white furry spot on the battlefield if they force us to truly battle." She perked her ears. In a quieter version of her royal canterlot voice she bellowed towards Arietta.
"Thou shalt not be pessimistic when charging into battle! My fair pink haired friend, thou shalt jump into battle headfirst with the confidence thou shalt win said battle!"

Next to come into the Cafeteria was Rainbow Dash. She had a lot on her mind at this moment, she was feeling very lopsided right now. On the one hand she was sorta glad she didn't have to fight anyone. (All though if anyone asked her about it, she'd deny it until the day she died) But, her major concern was the Twilight vs. Pinkie Pie fight, that she had seen on the list of battles that had to take place. And another part of her was really worried about the Scootaloo and Babs Seed fight. Rainbow didn't really know that much about Babs Seed. But, she knew enough that she didn't want her to get beaten up too bad. And of course she didn't want Scoot, Twilight, or Pinkie Pie to get beaten up as well. She hoped that she would not need to be in the same predicament as the others.
Rainbow would not know what to do, if she had to fight someone she was friends with. Rainbow was so engulfed in thought that she didn't notice that she was holding up the line. "Oh, Sorry" Rainbow Dash quickly said and picked out a few things and put them on her tray. Rainbow was so lost in thought that at first she hadn't noticed the others at the Cafeteria.

Rebecca's head tilted up, distracted from Kiara as she looked towards the table where Luna and Hiccup were now are with another girl. And Luna... seemed angry. Why? She had no idea. Rebecca herself hadn't had a chance to look at the lists yet, and she had to admit she was a bit scared too. She could be on it, she also could not be on it. Rebecca had no strength that she knew of, except for her teeth and claws, though that wouldn't do much good really against someone who was bigger at her.
Shifting from paw to paw, Rebecca turned her head towards Kiara, giving a small smile. "Ye should come sit at um..." Should she even say our? She didn't know Luna and Hiccup very well... yet. But maybe it'd be alright. "... our table." She finished, before bringing her tray over towards the table.
As she approached, Rebecca could catch the last bit of what Luna was saying to the pink-haired girl, and her eyes widened as she looked over towards the girl. She was going to fight today? Putting the tray down onto the table, she turned to the pink-haired girl, before biting her lip. "Um... hello." She said politely, giving a small smile, which soon became nervous. "Your... your going to be participating ion the fights today?"

"Battle? What battle?" Gabu stood dumbfounded, a plate of bacon strips in his paws as he looked at the strange horse like creature who had yelled something about a battle of some sorts. The brown wolf turned to take in the sight of the other students who were at Luna's table. 'Humans? Huh.' Gabu had heard tales from his mother about humans coming into the valley sometimes, but that was years ago, leaving the old barn as the only reminder of there presence. Gabu gave a shake of his head and moved towards the table. "Excuse me. What's all this about a battle I hear? I'm new and all," he mumbled sheepishly.

Sync? What kind of a name was that? Not that he was one to talk, as his name was Hiccup, but he still thought it was a strange name to give the person Arietta was fighting. He would have said something, but Luna had spoken up. Her suggestion to take Toothless and flee would have been a good one... If not for the fact that Hiccup didn't know whether or not the Night Fury was there. Hiccup's expression softened into one of uncertainty and he poked at his pancakes with his fork. His thoughts were wholly focused on not knowing where Toothless was now.
"I'd love to, but I don't even know if Toothless is here. If he is, I haven't seen him," Hiccup sighed. He only wished that he knew that much for a fact. ...He also wish he knew more about who was on the list of people fighting that day. Hiccup really would need to take a look at the list for himself. If Astrid was fighting...
...Shit. I don't know if she's fighting or not!
His expression shifted to one of panic for a moment and he looked back to his friends. They had both seen the list; surely they knew if Astrid's name was on it or not.
"Guys, I have to know. Was the name 'Astrid' on the list?" he asked. It was just at that moment that he heard Rebecca's voice again, and he briefly glanced her way. She was still talking to Kiara and suggesting that the lion cub join their group for breakfast. Hiccup wouldn't have minded that much. First, though, he wanted to know whether or not his girlfriend was on the list. If she was, it would give him even more reason to watch the fights.

Arietta blinked, to be honest she had only been looking for her name. When a small dalmatian asked about her being in the fights, the girl nodded. "Uh huh. I am kind of hoping that it won't be too bad. After all, its just the first fight. How bad could it be?' she said, giving a small smile hoping to not put the young pup in a troubled mind. "I suppose I should have been prepared but i guess it came as a shock."
She rubbed her arm uneasily, trying not to imagine the battle ahead. "And I think her name was on the list. I think she was fighting someone from the air circle.."

With a little bit of courage, rainbow walked over to the table. She knew practically no one except for Princess Luna. Hiccup asked if someone named Astrid was fighting. Like Arietta she had paid most of her attention to her not being on the list and her friends , but, she did happen to see that name on the sheet. "Yeah , I don't know who this is, but she's fighting someone named...uhhhh... Wolfsbane. Yeah, that's right from the air circle. Do you know this Astrid"?rainbow dash asked hoping it wasn't someone who he was really good friends with.

"It's like meat, but I don't know what they do to it." Kiara followed Rebecca's advice and prodded a couple of the hamburgers onto her plate, but didn't look vastly impressed. It was all... hot and soft, and Kiara didn't understand. Back home, she was used to tearing raw chunks off whatever part of the carcass Mom set aside for her, and while she supposed it made sense that the staff wouldn't want them making a mess like that in here... Kiara was still a complete foreigner to the idea of meat actually being cooked.
Not that she even understood what the cooking entailed. But whatever they did to it, it didn't look half as appetising once it came to be served up. Give her a raw zebra or antelope leg to strip the meat off to her heart's content any day.
Her musings were disrupted as the spotted animal spoke up again, inviting her to join the rest of them at their table. Enthused at the prospect of making some new friends - whether Daddy would have approved of them or not - Kiara nodded eagrely. "Sure, just let me- ah!" The feline winced slightly as water splashed down the front of her uniform. She had been trying to gather up a glass of water like the one Rebecca had on her tray, and managed to slop the better part of it down herself as she struggled to wrap her maw around the glass. Abandoning that idea, the princess decided she'd just come back for a drink later and carried her plate of hamburgers over to join the canine and her friends.
Two of those human creatures and a pair of blue antelope with wings made up the other occupants of the table. None of them appeared to be in the same circle as her, at least judging by what she could see of their uniforms, but that didn't really faze Kiara; the little lioness wasn't about to avoid making friends with someone just because they wore a different colour tie to hers. Thinking of, Kiara pawed her sky-blue tie a little straighter as she settled down beside Rebecca.
A little frown worked its way onto Kiara's maw as she listened to the other students talk about the fights. She had checked the list just long enough to see that neither she or Kovu were on it, but hadn't paid it much attention beyond that. Truthfully, the princess would rather not dwell on the fights at all, and so she declined to add her piece to the conversation right now and instead concentrated on munching on her breakfast, hoping someone might find another topic to talk about soon instead.

Confirmation from both Rainbow Dash and Arietta made Hiccup's heart drop straight into his stomach. No... That wasn't fair. Astrid shouldn't have been put in the fights that soon. What if she got put up against someone that might have a chance of taking her down? Hiccup knew Astrid could hold her own, that much was certain, but he still felt the need to worry about her. She was his girlfriend, for pity's sake! He didn't know what he'd do if she got hurt. Of course, her statement during the dragon killing classes back home had been that it 'was only fun if they got a scar out of it'. Would that same motto work here? Would she still think along those same lines that day? Hiccup felt his stomach knot tightly and quite suddenly lost his desire to eat.
"She... She's my girlfriend," Hiccup finally managed to say. What was he supposed to do now? Could he find her at some point during the day and get a chance to talk to her? Could he wish her luck? Possibilities ran through Hiccup's head like a flock of Terrible Terrors, and he only felt his stomach knotting up worse than before. It wasn't fair at all. Astrid didn't deserve to be thrown into the fights then. It should have been him...
What are you saying? he asked himself. You'd probably die if you got thrown out there today.
Still, Hiccup couldn't help but wish it was him in Astrid's place. He wanted to keep her safe... At least for a little while.

Rebecca glanced over at Gabu, blinking a bit. Hadn't he heard about the announcements on the first day? Rebecca thought that it would've been a speck of conversation about it, even to the late students. Rebecca shifted from paw to paw. If he didn't know... well, it would be wrong to tell him now, wouldn't it? While they were all talking about it. It just seemed a bit wrong.
Rebecca then turned her attention back to Hiccup as he asked about someone named... Astrid? That was a strange name... she was pretty sure she hadn't heard of anyone called that before, though she couldn't rely on her memory. Though, that was besides the point. Was Astrid someone he cared about? Probably. She didn't know, or at least she thought she didn't, any others here, so she wouldn't have to worry about it. At least not right away... Rebecca thought, looking over the group gathered at the table. She didn't know any of them well, not yet, but she'd try. It had been quite lonely the first few days, with only the occasional 'hello' to someone she saw in class.
As Arietta spoke to her, Rebecca gave a small half-smile. Maybe the pink-haired girl was right, and the fights wouldn't be too bad. Not that she was going to be battling, at least it seemed like her name hadn't appeared on the list from the chatter going on, but she wouldn't like to see anyone she had met so far hurt. "Muh name's Rebecca," She said with a smile.
And then she heard the splash of water behind her to find herself looking at the... cat? ... she had met at the counter walking towards her without a drink. And a blue... winged thing like Luna. An alicorn again? Except without a horn. Rebecca blinked her cerulean eyes a bit, before shaking her head. Well, the more the merrier.
Rebecca's ears tilted forward as she heard Hiccup talking. Astrid was his girlfriend? Oh, she knew that wouldn't be good at all. She shifted once more, uncomfortable. "Maybe... she'll be fine. Like she said, the first fights couldn't be too hard... right?"

"Man, it's a good thing -I- wasn't put on that list to fight anyone." A boasting adolescent voice would cut through the nervous chatter like a knife. Lucky strode into the room for all the word as if he belonged there, a confident smirk on his face. He padded to the serving table and propped his front paws on the edge, looking with hungry, happy eyes at the assortment of food there. "Man, somebody PINCH me! We never got to eat this stuff at home!" Hamburgers, hot dogs, pancakes, sausages, you name it, it was on that table and it frankly made Lucky's mouth water. So much that he had to lick his muzzle rather noisily.
He picked up a tray with his teeth and carefully sidled it along the length of the table, picking up various food items in his mouth and placing them on his tray, with the practiced ease of a canine who was used to doing such things. Deciding to forego a drink for the time being, the pup carried his tray confidently over to where the others were huddled and talking as if he belonged there, setting his tray on the table and hopping up next to Hiccup. "So, what are you all talkin about? Who's fighting?"

Another spotted dog? Hiccup really shouldn't have been surprised, but there it was. Lucky sitting beside him looked rather odd to him. Still... He just couldn't bring himself to ask just who this one dalmatian was. Hiccup blinked once when Lucky asked his question, frowned a bit, and motioned to Luna and Arietta. They were two of the people in the fights, and then there was Astrid as well... Not that Lucky knew who she was. Still, she was worth mentioning.
"Luna and Arietta here, for starters," Hiccup said, "and my girlfriend, too. Ugh... I feel sick."
Hiccup didn't think he could actually manage to eat now that he knew that Astrid was in the fights. He pushed his plate of pancakes a bit further away from him and let his arms rest on the table. Soon, his head was resting atop his arms and sighed. His stomach felt as though it had been knotted several times and it was enough to make him wish he hadn't woken up at all that morning. Hiccup would have had to have been a fool to think Astrid was in any real danger. She knew how to fight, and she could rightly kick his ass if she wanted to. Somehow, though, the image of her being in trouble refused to leave his head.
"Somebody tell me this is all a dream. Or at least tell me that I'm not going to have to hear about my girlfriend being out there fighting," Hiccup murmured. He didn't want to have to think about it. Hell, Hiccup didn't want to see it either. Somehow, though, he had a good feeling that he'd wind up going to see Astrid fighting one way or another. He just couldn't live with himself if he didn't see whether or not Astrid came out of the fight unscathed. If he missed that much and found out that she'd ended up in the medical facility... She'd probably punch him in the face. Or never speak to him again. Either way, Hiccup wouldn't be able to live with himself.
